Roger Goulden has immense experience of clinical dentistry, having been in general practice since 1965. Since qualification he has undergone extensive continuing education, attaining higher qualifications in Restorative Dentistry and General Practice. He is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, having been accredited to the the Specialist List by the General Dental Council in January 1999
He has also followed a part time teaching career, having been employed from 1978 to 1996 by London University to teach undergraduates at Guy's Hospital and King's College Dental School.
From 2004, he was a course tutor in implant dentistry at the University of Warwick, and in 2006 he was appointed Associate Clinical Professor in the Medical School at that University (web site).
He has also had a postgraduate teaching commitment, providing courses, lectures, videos and articles for practising dentists and lawyers. From 1985 to 1991 he was Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, assessing dentists presenting for the MGDS diploma, the highest qualification available in General Dental Practice. Since 1985, Roger Goulden has been involved in medico-legal matters and has obtained the Diploma in Forensic Odontology and the degree of Master of Laws (Legal Aspects of Medical Practice), both qualifications affording training in the handling of evidence and the preparation of medico-legal reports
These qualifications give Roger Goulden an unparalleled basis for medico-legal reporting, since he is able to draw on more than 40 years' extensive first hand experience of clinical and academic dental practice, combined with a detailed knowledge of the legal process and contemporary scientific literature
Expert evidence is provided in 150 - 200 written reports each year in all his areas of expertise, together with oral evidence in court, appearances having been made in numerous Crown Courts and at the High Courts in London and Dublin
